![]() Has anyone had problems with their Kindle DX battery and if so was it resolved? My questions to the good folk of this forum are these:ĭoes anyone have an idea how long the battery life (not holding a charge, but until it dies for good) of the Kindle DX battery is? Am I worrying for nothing? I have come a across a few websites that show you how to access the Kindle DX battery, and it seems that it is possible to replace it, albeit not without risking damage to the Kindle. I'm not so sure I want to go ahead with my purchase now, and it's a bit disappointing after all the good things I've read about the Kindle DX (no memory card slot not withstanding). I was told that Amazon would sell me a refurbished kindle DX for $259 for a battery problem after the warranty expires (!!). I asked to be transferred, and lo and behold, was told that Amazon does not replace the Kindle DX battery. I was told a transfer to the warranty team would be in order (?). I asked him what he would tell a customer who was calling in to have the battery replaced after the warranty period expires. ![]() The front line agent kept trying to tell me the battery would be replaced free of charge during the warranty period. I called Amazon customer service to see how one would go about doing that (I live in Canada). To my knowledge, all batteries have a shelf life, and eventually the battery for the Kindle DX Global will need to be replaced. I'm just really missing the big screen of the DX and the feeling of carrying a book around.I'm thinking about purchasing a Kindle DX Global, but I've learned that the batteries are not customer replaceable. I would honestly pay anywhere from $400-$500 if they made a new one. I really wish Amazon would revamp the DX and give it backlight. I have the iPhone Pro Max and I think that screen is bigger than my Paperwhite, so it's just frustrating over time. Seems to run around $30 for a battery and tools for the replacement. I still have my Kindle DX, but the battery barely works, so I've been looking into getting a battery replacement for it. Lately, I've just realized how much I HATE the tiny screen on my Paperwhite, and having to increase the font size makes me feel like a 60 y/o man lol. I got a Kindle Paperwhite around 2017 and have been using that since. The size is perfect and it's always been light enough for me to carry around with no worry. I got my Kindle DX my senior year of high school (2010) and absolutely loved it. ![]() You may or may not receive a reason.Ī complete and up to date list of rules is available on the new Reddit view ![]() Failing to do so will end up on your post being removed and/or your account banned. ![]() When posting in r/Kindle, make sure you adhere by our guidelines.
